Themed Attraction Concept [2024]
The power of superstition aligns for your journey into the unknown…
'Project Electro' represents a concept for a themed attraction. Creative pieces here are my own but the ideas were conceived as part of a collaborative project.
THE QUEUE
Guests enter a working restoration site. Here, the supplies lockup rumbles to life with a generator spluttering as lights overhead flicker nervously. A strange radio channel bursts to life; with music from a bygone era.
the ruin
Guests enter the crumbling ruin... A projected film gives a hint of what is to come - promise of a grand illusion! Missing posters present slightly less optimism for the electro railway. All original passengers disappeared sometime in the 1930s...
THE STATION
The station of an otherworldly transportation system is unveiled! A grand illusion is promised and you're the unsuspecting volunteer... Electricity courses through the veins of the station - it's alive!
SPECTRO ELECTROLYSER
A strange contraption whirrs into life; powered by superstition itself. After a strange journey across dimensions, our guests are returned just in the nick of time! All thanks to the Spectro-Electrolyser, trying with all its might to return us to the real world.
CONTEXT
This work offers an expanded scope for the theming of 'TH13TEEN' at Alton Towers, with the concept pieces being overlaid on my own images of the attraction. The existing theme of the world's first freefall drop roller coaster was used as a springboard here. Just what does the power of superstition mean and where could it take our guests?
